	In order for Carbon Plan to facilitate the decision making process a metric must be developed using the clients values and aspirations. In order to develop this metric, these values and and those of all other stake holders, must be interpreted and measured. Carbon Plan have developed a system through which by constantly interrogating the technical and material processes as decisions need to be made, a robust metric can be developed.

By understanding the underlying politics of a project and the interactions of stake holders the development of the metric adds significant value.

It will allow the client and the design team to produce decisions which are socially equitable, economically sound and environmentally sensitive, not just in the early development of the project but through its entire life span.

The other added benefit of this process is that all stake holders are engaged and understand the project and the decisions made.
